Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sellvik (“Sellvik,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our e-commerce platform, websites, merchant dashboard, and the storefronts our merchants operate (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Sellvik is a multi-tenant e-commerce platform that lets merchants sell across the web and social channels including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and online marketplaces. We act as a data processor on behalf of merchants for storefront and order data, and as a data controller for the accounts merchants and platform administrators hold with us directly.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information - name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), and shop details you provide when creating or managing an account.
- Order and customer information - names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order history processed through merchant storefronts.
- Facebook & Instagram data - when you connect a Facebook or Instagram account, or sign in with Facebook Login, we receive your name, profile picture, email address, and the specific Page, catalog, or content permissions you grant. We only request the permissions needed to provide the feature you enabled.
- Usage and device data - IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar diagnostic data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- To authenticate you, including via Facebook Login, and to keep your account secure.
- To publish, schedule, or manage content and product catalogs on the social channels you connect, only as you direct.
- To process orders, payments, shipping, and customer support.
- To send transactional notifications and, where permitted, product updates.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers - infrastructure, hosting, payment, courier, SMS, and email vendors who process data on our behalf under contract.
- The merchant whose storefront you transact with, for order fulfillment.
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data received from Facebook and Instagram is used solely to provide the connected feature and is handled in accordance with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
5. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the Services and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it.
6. Your rights and choices
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and withdraw permissions you granted to connected social accounts at any time. To delete data obtained through Facebook or Instagram, see our Data Deletion Instructions.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures - encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and scoped access controls - to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
